March Employee Spotlight: Melanie Danahy

Melanie Danahy started in the Data Entry Department and 18.5 years later she now works in the Sales Administration Department.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I never do the same thing twice.

What is your biggest accomplishment at MECO?

Setting up the pre-paid freight program.

What is your next goal or milestone at MECO?

Retirement - not right away though.

Why did you choose this field of work?

My previous job at Pendleton was eliminated through downsizing and this job became available.

What advice would you give a new employee:

Show up on time and do what is expected of you.

Outside interests:

Church, rocking babies in the NICU and hockey games.

What is your favorite thing about Omaha or favorite place in Omaha?

Lauritzen Gardens.

What is your favorite food/restaurant?

Prime Rib.
